Dear [FIRSTNAME],

This is your reminder to save the date for the third annual Knowledge  Network Spring Summit! The Summit will be held in conjunction with the 42nd National Council Mental Health and Addictions Conference at the Hilton Chicago in Chicago, Illinois on April 14, 2012 from 1:00 to 5:00 PM. The Summit will include an update on the Knowledge Network Data Warehouse, which was launched in the Fall of 2011 and provides administrators and clinicians with actionable and user-friendly information regarding improving care and reducing costs for their respective organizations. Currently, the Knowledge Network members are using the resource to track data on behavioral health service delivery, diagnosis, medication, cost, geography, and outcomes for over 190,000 patients. With the Knowledge Network Data Warehouse, community mental health centers can rapidly and successfully respond to drastic changes – potentially preventing millions of dollars in losses and promoting better quality care.

The Summit will also feature a keynote address from the leading edge of the behavioral healthcare sector, as well as updates from the Implementation, Policy, Research, and Technology workgroups on their accomplishments since the 2011 Fall Knowledge Network Summit.  Please mark your calendars and plan to join us for this exciting dialogue on moving research into practice in community behavioral healthcare.

Registration for the Summit is free and can be completed by contacting Clare Lundy at Centerstone Research Institute at clare.lundy@centerstone.org. She will also be happy to provide you with a list of hotel options if you plan to attend the summit and would like to know where to stay. More information will be forthcoming through this listserv. Please visit www.knproject.org for updates and additional information.

If you have any questions, contact April Bragg at april.bragg@centerstone.org or Clare Lundy at 615-463-6249.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Highlights

Interested in Implementation? Even the best research projects fail because organizations do not share best practices about how they were successful. This working group’s first project is to develop a rapid cycle implementation method to get research-based knowledge into community mental health centers. Their first target is increasing the prescription of clozapine, a generic antipsychotic with the best long term results, for individuals with schizophrenia who screen positive for suicide risk.
