The Knowledge Network is an innovative project that brings together mental health centers, academic researchers, behavioral health advocates, industry leaders, and policymakers in order to work together in moving research into practice in behavioral healthcare. Sponsored by the Centerstone Research Institute, the Knowledge Network endeavors to stimulate collaboration, encourage academic research in applied research settings in behavioral health, and impact federal funding and policy priorities for the behavioral healthcare industry.
Community mental health centers participating in current Knowledge Network projects include La Frontera, River Edge Behavioral Health Center, The Center for Health Care Services, Centerstone, The Mental Health Center of Denver, NHS Human Services, and Cobb/Douglas Community Service Boards. Participants in the Knowledge Network Summits also include staff from Washtenaw Community Health Organization, Thresholds, and other community mental health centers across the country.
National stakeholders involved in the Knowledge Network include representatives from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Agency and the National Institutes of Mental Health. Don Hevey, President/CEO of the Mental Health Corporations of America and Linda Rosenberg, President/CEO National Council for Community Behavioral Healthcare, are integrally involved in the Knowledge Network and its projects.
Researchers engaged with the Knowledge Network include researchers from Vanderbilt University, the University of Texas San Antonio, The University of Texas Southwestern, Centerstone Research Institute, and the University of Chicago.
The Knowledge Network project is made possible by support from the Joe C. Davis Foundation, the Ayers Foundation, and the Cal Turner Foundation.
